Dan (Clarkson) and Jeff (Turner) have become a cult hit at the fringe after their Potted Potter, Potted Panto and Potted Pirates shows, now the pair jump on the new found/hip trend of Sherlock Holmes with… Yes, you guessed it Potted Sherlock – a 70 minute, manic, slapstick fueled romp through all 60 of the fictional detective’s cases.
The pair are a perfect double act, and swap and change rôles with shockingly slick ease, however they are not alone in their efforts, they are joined by a girl (shock horror) whose name one can’t remember to bring the stories to life.
They are all there, including; The Sign of Four, A Study in Scarlet, The Hound of the Baskervilles (Hoooooowwwwwwlllll) and all the lesser known cases… but the pair knowingly take the RSC approach to the presentation, no not that RSC the other one (Reduced Shakespeare Company) some cases are solved through song and some through cheeky one-liners it all works so well there’s even time for some more tea (cue flashing lights and haze.)
Dan, Jeff and the new member of the team work their proverbial socks off and are buzzing around the stage (sometime quite literally) for the whole time, this is a trio that tantalises and delight’s the audience both young and old into bouts of belly laughs… yes sometimes the slightly longer tales seem to drag a little, but overall this is a cracking family friendly show.
Lizzie Wort… the girl’s name… It’s Lizzie Wort
