NEWS: Principal casting – We Will Rock You World Arena Tour

To celebrate its 10th anniversary, the worldwide smash hit musical We Will Rock You, by Queen and Ben Elton, embarks on a world arena tour in 2013 and four of the principal cast have been announced.

Lauren Samuels, who is best known for appearing on BBC’s Over The Rainbow, will reprise her role as Scaramouche following a successful run in the west end production. Joining her in the cast will be Lucie Jones (X Factor and Les Misérables) in the role of Meat, Rolan Bell, fresh from performances in Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre’s productions of Ragtime and A Midsummer Night’s Dream, will play the rebel Brittney, whilst founding member of satirical musical outfit Barbershopera, Rob Castell, will play aging hippie Pop. Currently there is no more information on cast or creatives for the tour.

We Will Rock You is a jukebox musical set in the future where music has been outlawed. Two newly found bohemians (outcasts from the GaGa Kids) – Galileo & Scaramouch – set out to bring down the evil Killer Queen and her plan to rule the universe with C.R.A.P (Computer Recorded Automated Pop.)

The tour, which opens in Finland on the 25th February, will also take in Denmark, Dublin, Holland, Luxembourg, Czech Republic, Turkey, Croatia and Bulgaria, plus Nottingham, Belfast, Sheffield and Newcastle on the UK leg – further dates to be announced.
