Kerry Ellis is set to give her first performance in the Rhondda. As patron of the Encore Music Biz Contemporary Young Artist Competition, she will be appearing at the final of this brand new event. Over the coming months, aspiring singer/songwriters will be competing in the hope of getting through to the finals, held in The Auditorium, Rhondda College on May 11th 2013, where they will meet a panel of judges to include Ellis. The winner will receive prize money of £1000, with a second prize of £500 and third prize of £250. The aim is that these financial rewards will assist the up and coming artists to develop their skills further.
Ellis will also be entertaining the crowds herself, accompanied by the award winning five piece covers band, EMB.
Before the evening’s entertainment, a vocal workshop will be taking place for 16 to 25 year old singers, giving the young performers of the South Wales Valleys a rare opportunity to work with a world renowned artist such as Kerry Ellis. From the workshop participants, Ellis will be selecting a group to give a live performance at the competition final that evening.
Tickets for the workshop are £15 and available from Encore Music Biz.
