“Everybody loves you, so don’t let them down” and the Illegal Eagles certainly didn’t disappoint their audience at The Worthing Pavilion. Coming on stage to the theme tune to The Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy the band then soared away taking us back 40 years to an evening of nostalgia that delighted every member of the audience.

From the band’s original concept 17 years ago by Phil Aldridge whilst playing Desperado on a piano with a group of friends, the original line up with Keith Atack, Jeff Green and Darin Murphy has seen Garreth Hicklin joining them in 2010. His addition to the group brings the emotion and sound of Don Henley’s vocals. Having been introduced to the piano at the tender age of four, he has worked with many top bands such as Nostalgia, Night Shift, The Occasions and Monkey Shock and solo artists Neil McCullough and Phil Harrison to name but a few.

Following comments from their fans the band has decided not to include songs from The Long Road Out Of Eden on this tour but make it Eagles classics all the way. Performing songs such as Lyin’ Eyes, Desperado, Take It To The Limit, New Kid In Town, Tequila Sunrise and everyone’s favourite, Life In The Fast Lane. It does not matter that this is not the original band; it is the sound of the music that is important.

Members of the band move around the stage swapping instruments at ease, going from guitar to keyboard to drums, whilst maintaining extremely tight harmonies and outstanding guitar playing. During the second half there is an opening riff competition where the audience is spoilt further with small sections of classic songs; Money by Pink Floyd, Queen’s We Will Rock You, Smoke On The Water by Deep Purple, The Who’s Won’t Get Fooled Again and Sweet Home Alabama by Lynyrd Skynyrd leading us to the sensational Hotel California. A cleaver formula to showcase each member’s talents and the band’s ability to provide a fantastic musical experience.

Live music by real musicians doesn’t get much better than this with the Illegal Eagles being one of the most impressive tribute bands around.

Runs until: The group is currently touring the UK until December 2nd 2012 and will be taking the show across Europe and into the Middle and Far East.
