I Love The 70s – Pavilion Theatre, Worthing

The Public Reviews Rating: ★★★½☆

A live band consisting of 1 male and 2 female lead singers, keyboard, 2 guitars and a drums lit up Worthing Pavilion for an evening of a selection of 70’s hits.

They played classic tunes from ABBA (Waterloo), Mud (Tiger Feet), Candi Staton (Young Hearts Run Free), Blondie (Heart of Glass) to name but a few. From start to finish they must have covered over 25 songs. Throughout the performances the band members took turns to make costume changes and kept the evening twinkling with sparkling flares and tight Lycra. All gave really strong vocal performances and the music was well timed and professional.

Images of original album covers and artistes were projected on a screen on stage (if you weren’t too sure on the song/artist this did help!) and everything was pulled together with an obligatory 70’s glitter ball!

This was a really feel good evening of entertainment for all ages, in that even if you weren’t around the first time you would have recognised more than half the songs played. The band didn’t labour between tunes and kept everything well-paced. Perfect start to a Saturday night out with friends or family to install a feel good factor that would definitely last all weekend.

Runs until Saturday 18th August at Pavilion Theatre Worthing
