ED FRINGE REVIEW: Doug Segal : I Know What You’re Thinking – Three Sisters

The Public Reviews Rating: ★★★★★

Well it doesn’t take a genius to realise at 8:45pm during the Fringe you are going to come across a mentalist or two, but a trip to Three Sisters as part of the Laughing Horse Free Fringe will see you crammed into a tiny upstairs room to see what can only be described as one of the best acts of its kind, not only at the fringe but also in the UK.

Doug Segal is without doubt in the same league as Derren Brown, but here we have no false pretences, no big budgets and certainly no ego – Doug is an honest performer and from the offset – he tells us the fundamentals of his tricks, and at times even lets us in on a few trade secrets…Even so this still leaves the audience captivated from the off and with a few elements of surprise he has the audience in the palm of his hands.

I don’t want to go into the finer details of his show but can tell you this honestly. I predict great things for Doug and the only shame is that not as many people will see this act that it deserves. Here we have a performer who is a natural with his audience, a master at his craft and should be selling out the big venues at Assembly or The Pleasance in the next few years.

A great evening of mystery and hilarity which comes highly recommended

Runs until 13th August
