The Public Reviews Rating:

On Wednesday 14th July I went, with my mum and my sister Sasha, to see Macbeth performed at the Open Air Theatre in Regents Park. When we got in, we noticed that there were puppets of swans being paraded around the stage! It was really great, because we got to stroke them, and the actors who were carrying them talked to us. There was also a boy walking around the stage. He told us he was called Malcolm.
When the play started, we all got a shock, because when the three witches gathered together, they had turned the swans around, and upside-down the swans had skeletal necks and weird bone ram’s-heads.
What I most enjoyed about this play was when the three witches were singing ‘Double Bubble, Toil and Trouble’ and tossing things like eye of newt into the pond in the middle of the stage. Something else that made the production extra good was that the play was being performed in front of a big white screen, and at the beginning, all the characters stood in front of it, and their names appeared above them. If a character died, a line appeared through the name. I would give this play a five star rating. It was astounding.
If you haven’t read the book, you would still be able to understand this play. They did not change the words, but by their acting the actors made it easy to understand.
Runs until 31st July
